During my schooling years I had no access to any technology at school, there were no any kind of technology that was available for learners to use. We were told that every time they bought computers for my school they got stolen. The other challenge was that we as learners were not really interested and we were ignorant when it comes to ICT, I guess maybe it was because we were from the rural areas and most of all we were never inspired by anyone, we thought only about writing notes, studying and getting to matric these were the only things we cared about and careless about anything else that came afterwards, and I know most students can agree with me.
Due to this challenges there have been critics to the use of technology in education.

ReplyDeleteWhat you saying here is very true and most of us have experienced that challenge. But now me and you have to change the experience we had to the future coming learners, we have to make sure that the ICT Barriers do not exist in their lifetime and make sure that this learners have more advanced skills than us.
ReplyDeleteWe have to change the way people think and the way they think. we are the responsible people to make that happen in short period of time. we have gain a lot of ICT knowledge and we gonna share that knowledge with the world!
indeed I am now interested in ICT because I can see that it is useful, it easy to access information and its time saving. changing how people think it is a good idea but at this moment I don't its going to be possible in the rural areas as the government don't take into consideration the useful of ICT, at rural areas the government take into consideration into delivering textbook not any computers.

ReplyDeleteRural schools are the ones who are in need of facilities more. Helping the schools with computers and proper classes to learn in them can improve the learning in South africa
